The extensive growth of biobanks requires training of highly qualified personnel in the field of biobanking and the different disciplines linked to it. This university course imparts knowledge on biobank facilities and infrastructures, management and practical implementation of a biobank.
This university course imparts knowledge, competences and practical skills that will qualify graduates of the course to work in the multidisciplinary field of biobanking.

The increasing number of requests to use biological samples for medical research and the growing spectrum of potential methods for different analyses and applications confront biobanks with demanding requirements on quality of samples and data and further development of biobanking processes.

The university course:
Students of the MSc distance learning course „Biobanking“ will be awarded the academic degree Master of Science (M.Sc.) after successfully completing all required modules and a positive evaluation of the Master’s thesis.

Registration for the university course starting in winter semester 2020/21 will be possible until 30.06.2020. The course starts every two years after the completion of a complete course.
